Running with Sundance this weekend

Hey there Runners -

As a change for this coming Saturday we are going to meet at Grupe park and run with the Sundance running club.  This coming Saturday is their annual "Pie Run".

So we'll meet at 8:00am - you can do a 2 mile run or a 5 mile run and then bring a pie to share for afterwards.

http://sundancerunners.webs.com/apps/calendar/showEvent?calID=3815177&eventID=99503667

They note on their website that Marie Calendars is having a 1/2 on pies all week...

What a cool opportunity to spend time with other runners outside of St. Andrews.

Any questions?  Just call me at the church or shoot me an email.

Hope to see you all there!

Andys Racers Unite

I would like to propose that we all ban together and run/walk the

"Run for Courage"  - http://runforcourage.com/

It is a 5K run/walk or 10K run on, Saturday October 2nd in Folsom, CA.

This happens to be a Saturday where there is Sending Place training, but I know Pastor Dan is going to be trying to do the run and then go to training.  Ann Marie is thinking of walking as well, so people with training can participate.

Mary Culpepper is getting a group together from the Reno area and I'm thinking we could get a strong turn out to support this very worthy cause (see below).

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.  We'll be hearing more about Courage House and Courage to Be You (C2BU) at St. Andrews soon.

The following is taken from the above website:

Why Are We Running?
Estimates range from 250,000 to 800,000 children who are being sexually exploited each year in the US. According to the FBI, Sacramento ranks within the top 15 cities for sex-trafficking on Craig’s List. Currently, there is not a home in Northern California for girls rescued out of trafficking. Young victims are often charged with a crime and taken to Juvenile Hall in order to be in a secure environment. The mission of Courage To Be You, Inc. (C2BU) is to open a safe home for these girls with comprehensive services. Will you join our efforts as we walk and Run For Courage?

A few thought for the future

Hello!

After speaking with Ann Marie and Mike Rehbein on our way home from the San Francisco airport, I'm thinking that is might work best if we have a running opportunity every Saturday and whoever can participate, comes.  I know that means there will be several 1st and 3rd Saturdays where people will have training, but we'll meet when we can.

I have a race the next two Saturdays, so would not be able to do a group run - is anyone out there wanting to meet for a group run before September 18th?  If so, let me know and I'll post a time and place.

If you are interested in joining me for any of the runs in Sept. you are more than welcome to

Sept. 4th - Color the Skies 5K in Ripon - 8:00am (Shantelle, Amy and I are signed up for this one)
Sept. 11th - Bean Run in Tracy 10K - 8:00am (Shantelle, Brianna and I are signed up for this one)

Hope you are all doing well!
